Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as if the only way to add an attachment is to start a new thread - correct? Now, this one is going to be more challenging than the first one - I think. This photo was taken at the MD RRCA 10 Mile Club Challenge in Columbia, MD - in the early 80s. Who can name the guy in the dark blue shirt leading this three person group? There is a very good likelihood that there is only one person currently active on the local running scene who can identify this person (I would hope so, anyway). This person was running for the Howard County Striders in the race, and eventually he became one of the best milers at the master level in the world. Yes, I said "in the world." If there isn't anyone who answers it correctly over the next few days I will offer a significant hint. Good luck! Attachments:

I think I may know, but I'll wait a couple days and let others play and maybe get the hint.

I'll take a shot and guess Steve Ruckert. I don't know for sure what he looks like but I know he was a great masters miler in the late 80's early 90's. He is also the brother of local legend Tom Ruckert.

You are correct, Coach Mickey...Good job! Steve Ruckert was an exceptional miler in the 40+ age group. As pointed out by Coach Mickey, Steve is the brother of "local legend" Tom Ruckert.
This is a tough group to challenge. I might have to switch things up a bit.

I am in the process of placing photos, articles, etc. on CDs. Here is an article that goes along with the 10 Mile Club Challenge held in Columbia, MD. Looking at the list of names of those who participated, I believe Derrick Winfield is the only active runner today. I've mentioned this before, but now that the QCS has a core group training together I would encourage you folks to run this race in late January or early February. It was a lot of fun "in the day," and I'm sure it would be fun for members of the club today, too. Attachments:
