GARRETT COLLEGE TO OFFER HALF-MARATHON AND DISTANCE RACE TRAINING
McHenry, Md. – The Continuing Education and Workforce Development division of Garrett College will be holding two separate fifteen-session classes entitled Train for a Half-Marathon in Fifteen Weeks. Morning classes will begin on Thursday, January 21st and run through Thursday, April 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Evening classes will start the following day, Friday, January 22nd and run through Friday, April 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Have you always wanted to compete in or even just complete a distance race? Here’s your chance! Join Personal Trainer Jen Sober one morning or one evening per week for fifteen weeks and you’ll be ready just in time for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, area 5Ks, or any other distance race. Sober, a former collegiate All American runner and seasoned marathoner, will cover training, nutrition, injury prevention, race day strategies, and more. This is the perfect way to experience personal training for less than $20.00 per session!
Whether your goal is to run competitively or just get in shape, this class offers something for everyone, including individualized training plans. A supply list and general guidelines will be mailed to participants prior to the first class session. Please note that students must choose morning or evening sessions and may not attend both unless registering for and paying for both classes.
