CHARLESTON, S.C. – See Jim. See Jim run. Jim’s family was on hand Saturday to see Jim do just that – run. Allegany County resident Jim Jordan placed in the top 1 percent of more than 31,400 participants on Saturday during the 32nd annual Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, S.C. On vacation to see family, Jordan took covered the 6.2-mile distance in a chip time of 39 minutes and 40 seconds, good for eighth overall in the men’s 50-54 age division. Jordan and the others faced unseasonably cool temperatures on the point-to-point course, which began in Mt. Pleasant and finished in downtown Charleston. A key feature of the run is crossing the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, but published reports of a slight headwind prevented Jordan and others from running even faster along the thoroughfare. The event is likely Jordan's last competitive effort as he begins tapering in preparation for the Boston Marathon later this month. View complete results at www.postandcourier.com/bridgerunresults/.
