forecast 20's and heavy snow!! I'll see if I can make it. Besides being pretty busy, my hip hasn't responded well to rest/biking, but with the nice week we're hopefully going to have, I'm just gonna try to tough out some mileage and see if that remedies the problem.

Hadn't looked at the forecast. Still, it's a nice quiet road. Despite any potential weather problems except ice, I can't see having a problem with the race. The more the merrier, of course, but I'll also take just the dedicated few...

Looks like we will finally get some good weather for a long run. I can't think of a long run this winter where it wasn't bitterly cold or as it did for at least 75 percent of the time - raining! I am sick and tired of long runs in the rain or sleet and finally the final one is the only one where we get good weather. Go figure!

Jaron, I know you know a lot about running, but don't you think a 10k is a little short for a long run preparing for a marathon?

I think most of the Boston group planned on putting in some mileage both before and after the race on Sunday.

Our plan for Sunday is to do 10 miles before hand and 4-6 afterward for a total of 20-22.

Course is marked and the owner of the big St. Bernard told me tonight that the dog (which, really, is just a big ole puppy albeit one with a potentially powerful bite) is restricted to the yard by an underground electric fence. So, no worries.
Everything else looks fine. Rob, I think I saw you leaving on the bike the Naves Crossroad area around 5:20 Saturday nigh t- just when I was parking at the CHP auto parts place. It may be just 4-5 runners Sunday. If so, so be it. But it could be 50 of us, too.
Mile 3 is the hardest, I think, with the longest and steepest incline. the course is entirely on Mason Road and goes past Ferguson Lane. Runners will go over two one-lane bridges with no solid metal walkways, so be careful on those... easy to catch your toes on.
I will not be running tomorrow. Just walking the course tonight sent me into a coughing fit, which, in turn, caused my headache to return. Haven't run since last Saturday.
If anyone has an extra chronometer (I'd like 3, mine quit working) I'd GREATLY appreciate it. No lap-keeping abilities necessary. This affects our ability to provide splits.
Water will be at two points on the out-and-back course. Just before the 2 mile and just past the 4.2-mile points.

Mertz, I got the age messed up in the results. Robert Hall had it right, though, on the results posted at www.tristaterunnur.com. Sorry 'bout that.
