well, it is late april in the world of collegiate track and field- time to get snappy!
i am loving the reduced miles and faster workouts- my legs are feeling fast for the first time in a long time, though my 5k and 10k have yet to show it-
today was a michigan on the track (minus the tempos)
that is 1600, 1200, 800, and 400 with full recovery-
i ended feeling pretty good and had a decent workout:
4:42.73 for the 1600 (69, 72, 70, 71)
3:27 for the 1200 (67, 70, 70)
2:11 for the 800 (62, 69)
:58 for the 400
we took 800m jog at 8:40 mile pace after the mile and 1200 and then 400m or so after the 800- it was a good workout for me- not so fast that i couldn't do it, but quick enough that i was wheezing at the end- i was pleased with it-
i know that those who have just done marathons are not too excited at the thought of quick quarters and fast 5k's, but it is getting down to crunch time and i am getting quite pumped to see how the rest of the season will turn out-i will take the weekend off from racing to recover from 10k, and then on april 28th i will run the 1500m at lehigh-
in the 1500m, i would love to go under 4, but it will depend on the pace and whether or not we are trailing or leading- that would be a huge PR and a big confidence boost heading into my second round with the 10k-5k double-
hope that everyone is doing their best to get the warm weather on its way- i am sick of wind and cold!
there is no point to this message- i just wanted to let everyone know what is going on in south bethlehem right now
woody and scott, what else will you guys run before conference?
