Three seconds is three seconds!!! Baldisbetter tells Hawkins " I won't take this jogging in my red shoes{slightly pink}. If the Sunday run is anything like the Gary Brown it would be better spent in church!!! Hawkins vows a workout of Olympic proportions for the fearsome 4. Good run to all at the Gary Brown. Wildman

All I can say is that we tore up down there! All five of us placed either overall or in the age groups. Three of the five were age group winners (Ruckert took 50-59, Rob took 40-49, and Mertz took 18-29). Jeremy was 3rd in 18-29 just behind a former Ship runner Tim Skozcen. I ended up 2nd overall - not where I wanted to be, but it's better than the 3rd that I always get there.
Let's see if I can remember some times: Winner was Michael Wardian in 25:22 (three years ago he ran 25:33 here and today was much much hotter - he is fit!!) I was 26:15, Spence was 3rd in 26:35, Mike Lilley (junior in high school) 4th in 27:14. Mertz was 7th overall I believe in 28:43, Jeremy was 29:55, Ruckert 31:26 and Rob (three seconds is three seconds) in 31:29.
I think all of us were a little displeased with our performances (Mertz and I bit it on the way back), but 5 miles is not the same as a marathon. The goal is late October/early November. Personally, I'm on my way there, just a little behind where I was last year!!!
And yeah, tomorrow will be a nasty long run - cause Dave and I are ticked!!!

I thought that this race was run very well. It was nice to have all the timers out there and everyone else helping. We will have to makes bios up for next year for them to read off. It was impossible to make the wrong turn which made me very happy. I also have to agree the western maryland runners dominated putting all 5 in the top 15. And yes, be ready for tomorrow.

Three little seconds. Three little seconds. See how they run. See how they run. Ruckert ran the trail for all his life. They all ate Clif Shots to save their life. We really don’t run to hide from the wife. Three little seconds.
