Boston is going to be awesome this spring! Looking at sub 2:25, two sub 2:40's and sub 2:55 and Jim had better be sub 3:00!

Nice Job Rob. All four of you guys should be very proud. It is proof positive that old fashioned hard work will pay off. It is also great to see returning to running greatness. Nice work fellas...now get fat and lazy in time to work for Boston!

Live from New York it’s “Monday Night”::
Thank you all for all the support and training. It was a phenomenal experience. The Trials were truly amazing. I can think of nothing better then to see some of our very own in the next Trials.
I have many race stories to share. Starting with the guitar player in his underwear to the streams of “water” coming off the top level of the downward (mile 2) side of the bridge.
The setup of the race is great but the start is very and I mean very congested. It took 8 miles before I ran clean. Something new in this race for me as a runner. The pack was physical. A lot of pushing and shoving for the first 3 miles. So, it takes a lot of energy ducking, weaving, pushing, elbowing, and flipping off the other runners. I ended up running on a 10-inch wide curb for about 800 meter when we started up the bridge. Having said that it was still just one great race.
Anyway at mile 14, I felt so good I decided to go for 2:50 to 2:53. All went well until mile 21 and a left turn on to the avenue by the Central Park. I stepped into a small pothole and my right groin and hamstring cramped badly. After 200 meters they felt better and I was able to pick up the pace until the top of the hill at mile 23. Then when I started down hill the cramps were back and I could barely move. I realized that it didn’t hurt up hill but I couldn’t open my stride. So I took little choppy strides until the little hill at 25. Mile 25 then has a 800-meter down sloop. I almost had to run backwards. The bottom is flat and the finish is up hill so I knew I had it made.
I think 2:50 is a real goal for Boston..
Again, thanks all. The training really paid off. But it’s the group that makes it possible.
